front rotors scratched

Default front rotors scratched

i noticed my front rotors scratched, can feel roughness with my fingernail. rear ones are smooth.

LESS THAN 2000 MILES!! on 2010
no sounds, brakes feel ok, dont seem to drag.

ive never seen this except with worn out pads!??

what could do it?

Scratched or grooves? Normal use will cause grooves without the pads being completely worn out. This is why it's a good idea to have the rotors turned every time you change pads. Slight inconsistency in the pads, dirt, sand, etc. will cause small grooves in the rotors. It's all normal, as long as the brakes are not making noise and are working fine don't worry about it.

my 07 was almost ready for brakes at 56000 and the rotors looked good!

at less than 2000 roughness aint right!, the rear are smooth

Oh, heh heh, I read it as 20,000 miles. I guess it depends on how bad the grooves are, slight scratches/grooves I still say no worries. If they are getting heavily grooved already there may be an issue.
