Default First time owner with a few questions

Hello from Sweden( british expat!)
New/first time hummer owner after buying My 2006 H3 ,3.5l with adventure and luxury package (171000 kms )

I have a couple of questions i hope you Can help me with.

The hummer has the service tpms message that displays now and again and also the engine warning light displays now and again due to the car thinking the fuel cap isnt closed properly .fitted a new fuel cap and still get the cap message! Also after the car has been driven a while the smell from the engine is strong no idea if that is normal for an H3 or not? Possibly related to the fuel cap message?

Is there a fuse/fuses i Can remove that Will stop these messages appearing and the engine light the shows or is there more to it than that?

Also the keyfob doesnt work for the lock/unlock Doors. I Will try a new battery but if that doesnt work how much cost is involved to get a new let fob/remote ?

Final question , there is a cable that hangs loose in the passenger footwell, cab anyone shed some light on what it s for?

1st off welcome, congratulations on purchase.
Tpms message.... could be battery going dead in one of the modules or one of the sensors or may need to check air in tires.... next thing is to do a tpms relearn. As for the warning lite on dash you'll need to do a obdii scan so as to know the codes. Any time there is a heavy oder of gas that ain't so good. I'm guessing something in fuel delivery.

No, that won't help you solve your problem

Agreed try changing key fob battery. You can get a new key fob and have it programmed to your vehicle

Thanks for the reply.
Regarding the engine warning light I just want to not have it displayed as it is bothers me being constantly on basically ,
The strong smell from the engine isn't so much fuel I guess but the smell of a hot engine/fumes possibly . Strongest I have ever smelt on a car anyway.

Photo of said wire coming up .
Any other tips on what to check on my car are welcome .

Is there anywhere I can check to find out the full spec/equipment lay on my H3 by vin or similar?

That almost looks like an external aux cable.
You really need to check fore codes.

Cable does not appear to be factory. Trace it. I'm sure it is something a previous owner installed.

Your Tpms sensors are probably dying in the wheels. They are old and should be replaced. Normal for age and cheap fix. Order some online and have local shop install. Tell them you can program. You just want them to install them.
