Default Extra cooling for 2000 H1?

Hi I have a 2000 H1, over the weekend I was towing about 5000lbs. Driving up hills the truck was VERY SLOW (30 mph max) and twice the water temps got right next to the red so I pulled over, let it idle for abou 5 mins and it cooled pretty quickly then I got going again

Is there anything I can do to add more cooling? I have added water wetter. Would extra fans like the ones being sold on rubber duck help?

Thanks

I bought a lot of stuff for my 97 wagon from SS Diesel Supply (www.ssdieselsupply.com)out of NY. I added their electric auxilary fan, HO water pump, and colder thermostats. I also changed the coolant and added Water Wetter. The fan comes wired so that it is hooked to your AC compressor harness. That is, when you turn on the AC, the fan turns on. But I did away with that and wired a manual switch. This set up keeps mine running at around 165-180 undernormal usage, even while climbing long steep hils at highway speeds. I have towed our 19' ski boat with it and didnt have any overheating issues. But then again it is only about 2700 lbs trailered. It would climb to about 205-210 while under a load.
