My 2008 H3 won't pass inspection. Two computer monitors not ready, evap system and O2 system. I have tried driving it through the drive cycle two times now with the same result. What can be the problem? It only has 104k on it. I am overdue on inspection and tags so I need help.

Keep driving. the O2 and Evap systems are tough to get in readiness mode. Did you follow the GM drive cycle exactly? The drive cycle is tough to do unless you have a long stretch of flat road.

 

I followed the drive cycle as well as I could. Have driven it twice now and will try again tonight. I have to wait til night time for (a) less traffic and (b) so LEO doesn't see my expired sticker. I only need one more to go into readiness mode to pass inspection.

The evap monitor won't run until the fuel level is low enough - usually around 1/4 tank. There has to be a sizeable air pocket over the fuel. Curious why the O2 monitor won't run. I'll check on the requirements later today at work.

 

Quick update; fuel level should be between 1/4 and 3/4 full, ambient air temp should be over 40 degrees. I have access to Motologic and Alldata but information as to specific criteria to run the individual monitors is not listed. I have had some success with the Tech 2 scan tool running the evap test manually.
