Default Does this sound like an ignition switch problem???

I was out and about yesterday afternoon. Stopped off to pick something up. Returning to the hummer,i blipped the fob for the remote start and nothing!!. Couldnt even hear the fuel pump engage. I got in and turned the key manually and nothing. No click from the starter or the fuel pump priming.

I have all the electrics. Dash lights, headlights etc working. Turning the key doesnt even dim the headlights prior to it starting. Now ive noticed from the owners handbook that there is what looks like two ignition switches in the fuse board. Checking on the Rockautos site and typing in ignition switch the picture shows something different. Is there a seperate switch located in the steering housing or somewhere else on the vehicle???.

There is only 1 ignition switch that is the electrical portion behind the key. You could have a bad starter solenoid or corroded solenoid cables.

So i take it that that the two blocks indicated as "switches" in the owners manual located in the fuse box are in actual fact "relays"??. I had some starting issues a month back. At times it would just click. I took the starter off and had it tested. It came back fine. I cleaned all the contacts up and it worked.

This time when i turn the key i'm getting nothing. No click from the solenoid or i cant even hear the fuel pump come on.

If you cant hear the fuel pump come on I would say it's the ignition switch. If you have a hard time getting one in the UK let me know and I can send you one. They are not very expensive.

Just a quick up date. The problem is now solved. It turned out to be a 40amp fuse.
