Doc, I came across an old post I saved from 6 years ago that you were working on a replacement for a Center High Mounted Stop Lamp. You had said "I've been using it for a while now, and so far so good". Anything ever materialize from that?
I found an old post in The Google on using LED strips to repair it. (It may have been Doc's post, I dunno) anyway for $20 at Walmart bought a set of strips, cleaned up the old LEDs and installed the strips, rewired and been working fantastic for about 9 months now.
Doc didn't go into detail but I got the impression that it was new 'guts' to go into the existing housing that would replicate O.E.M.......BUELLER?...BUELLER?
Yeah........... I made up some. I used a thin SS laser cut plate that attaches to the inside of the OEM housing replacing the burnt out OEM guts with a High Power 6-5050-SMD LED Strip Light. Which you can later replace with your own LED strip lights if they ever burn out. Still using mine and going strong. I still have some.
Just checked taillights. Noticed 2 issues, license plate bulb burned(led time) and there's an amber tint coming from the DS taillight. The cheap high mount mod, is still working 5yrs later.
