Default Disengaging drive line/transmission

Last winter I started to drive my H3 on a wintery day and went about a mile or so and all movement stopped. It was like a manual transmission when you push in the clutch. Disengaging the driveline or transmission. I set for a few minutes and put the transmission back into Drive and the vehicle drove again for awhile but again disengaged. I since have driven the H3 and as long as the outside temperature is at least 45ish Degrees F, transmission/driveline will stay engaged and will drive just fine. During the winter when the problem was happening there was some fluid dropping fairly straight down where perhaps the problem exists. I have not gotten under the vehicle yet to observe and check it out. No apparent leakage during warmer weather. It does not seem as though the transmission is the issue. I have driven the vehicle during the spring, summer and fall a little this year but I think there is perhaps a solenoid/actuator that engages the driveline/transmission but have not found it yet on a schematic or diagram of the vehicle. Has anyone had a similar problem and please describe the issue, repair, and if you had someone repair or did you buy a part and replace the part yourself.

I had a similar problem with my wife's Tahoe. Turned out to be the Transfer case encoder motor. Sounds like it is shifting your transfer case into neutral.

I'm experiencing the same thing....I think. it loses power to the wheels. Switching to 4WH everything is fine. I'm wondering if there is a sensor or solenoid that is affected when it gets wet, or a bare wire or something.
