the rubber in the maf unit housing bulged out and i am not sure what happened it may not seal very well i think it was temporarly and it went back into shape when installed otherwise i'll know something is wrong if the gasket failed to seal, and the MAF gets incorrect air mass reading
car was performing the same or better ( i was lucky)
i admit i sprayed it heavilly

i know the gasket stays inside the engine intake manifold

i am not afraid of solvants damage to gasket
but afraid of removing a perfectly sealed TB and this will let air leaks past the gasket

this is why they require gasket changes in most of the time you disconnect any part that has gasket

it's because of all the heat it's hardend and won't seal like fresh rubber after R&R

hope my point is clear and error free

anyhow i'll get into cleaning my tb soon

i did an on spot TB cleaning on trailblazer before without any issues that car has idling issues due to alternator output( replaced with GM rebuilt unit) roll any windo or use some electrical load and the veicgle will almost stall my hummer is fine in this concern

what your openion on WD40 for TB cleaning?
i've cleaned TB'S before with almost half a can that went into the engine and the car started immediatly without any smoke or anything( i probably could pour WD40 in my gas tank)

thanks

You need to do some learning! Start by researching carbonization!

Then research how to Decarbonize

This guy asks questions like he knows NOTHING! Then you try to help and this guy knows EVERYTHING!

It's like that guy that knew everything then swamped his H3 a year or 2 ago.
Thank god he is gone now.

I will say again, Amen. I am still half sure it's trolling.

Seriously, if you are playing troll, just stop...it's wasting the time and energy of folks that could be helping others that actually want it.

you ask rambling, and sometimes half ludicrous questions and then debate when people answer you..people that obviously DO know what they are talking about. Or you ask it again and again. Or give crazy reasons why you cant do what was recommended. etc. etc. etc...

If by chance you're not playing troll? then based on your posts on this forum imo you probably shouldn't be working on your vehicles! Support your local mechanic...and start with getting your slipping tranny fixed before you kill it.

apparently some people can't quit calling others trolls when they are not

and for the tenth time i am not trolling

i wouldn't write such long posts to waste my time or anybody else

forums are found as discussion boards and for debates

i didn't say that anybody is wrong i was only telling my opinion and information

i was also thankfull for every entry written on this thread except for these peoplr that don't have anthing better to say except calling out

Bringing up your (parent's) Lexus on a Hummer forum will not impress anybody here. The H3 Transfer Case is vastly different from that Yota crap's AWD system, no comparisons to be made there.

I think this thread ran its topic for discussion and debate on whether you can disconnect the Battery of an H3 without consequence to a conclusion. Time to move along.
