Well, I had the dreaded front end oil leak so I took it to a local repair shop which indicated they worked on Hummers. Out the door I paid $830.67 which included:
Crankshaft oil seal
Harmonic Balancer
Serpentine belt
Oil change


And on the Crankshaft seal it say: " Remove & replace automatic trans front. w/grill guard - (includes recover, evacuate and recharge air conditioning system."
Includes: R&I Grille Assembly
Includes: R&I Radiator
I do have an external transmission fluid cooler which bypasses the engine cooling system.


Any thoughts?

in winter ,tranny may never get up to top temp, not good?

 

As long as your transmission cooler has a internal pressure by-pass cold weather should not be an issue. If it does not, then there can be issues.

I would check your model with the manufacturers specs to see if it does.

As far as if you got a good deal it depends on if you are satisfied and there is no more leak. Sounds like a decent deal for the work you had done.

 

Well, since I live in Florida I don't think cold weather is going to be an issue, yes, every once and a while we get down to the 40's but I can always use the SUV. Thanks for the reply's.
