Default Damn squirrels

They did it to me again.. chewed through my wiring... This time it seems that they carried the male end off with them. Does anyone have any suggestions? My speedo don't work and the tranny wont shift gears...

Yea, after this, its war. Im gonna grind up rat poison and mix it with peanut butter and smear it all over the tree branches.
im in the city so no rifles or shotguns.

I just don't know what Im going to do about the wiring connection. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you get the original style connector (from a junkyard? Should be generic GM) then the repair is easy and straight-forward. Alternately you could get some similarly sized wire, some inline splices and a pair of connectors that will slide over the terminal at the oher end. A length of shrink wrap tubing over it all will keep out the elements and protect it.

FYI, Insurance will cover that under Comprehensive. I happened on my brother's Monte Carlo. Dealership towed it, fixed it, no deductible. In case you are interested in going that route.

Thanks for the replies. I don't mind doing this small task myself, but the PITA is in finding the parts.. I called dealerships today and the parts were gonna end up costing close to $200 ..... BTW,, the part/parts is called the vehicle speed sensor, and speed sensor pigtail.. not to be confused with the ABS wheel speed sensor.. Did some googling and ended up calling Summit Racing (here in Ga.) Both parts are going to be about $50 shipped! I hate dealerships... I don't have the parts yet so I cant say nothing about that, but if it all falls together, Summit will be first option in my book... Ill keep yall posted.

Success! It took me a while to get it on only because I was procrastinating. If anyone's interested in the part #'s here they are. From Summit Racing,,, The sensor is called a "Standard Motor Vehicle Sensor" part # SC168. $27.97.
The second part is called "Ron Francis Wiring Vehicle Speed Sensor Connector Pigtail. Part # PG-094. $7.83. This is for a 06 H3. Less than $50 shipped!!! beats the hell outta $200 from dealer.. just sayin...........
