I went with airdoc and standard air box. Fit perfectly. You can then add whatever filter you want or keep standard.

I bought the one with red silicone hoses. It's a great quality material but I don't have any way of connecting the maf to the filter?

Ok, i see your problem, the center picture shows the ring that the maf should connect to.

There should be a lip that goes around the center hole and is about a inch tall.

That is where your maf would mount...

I would contact the seller asap..

[QUOTE=LoJac963;327840]How do those hard edges on the air box seal to the hood without damaging the hood liner? Sucking in hot engine compartment air will negate the potential benefits of a "cold air" intake. Factory is a true cold air as it brings the air in through the fender. That was why I went with a Volant box paired with an AirDoc tube. Sure much more expensive of a setup but you do get what you pay for.

Lojac is there a real benefit in the Volant box? Other than look and make easier filter change .
Something to claim such as Mpg,Hp,acceleration etc ... Ive been wanting to upgrade the box bit still cant find enough benefits to justify the $$$ ...

H2Miami, just hit the web, and really look at what nearly EVERYONE is using, they are using the K&N type cai..

The Box type cai, the Volant is just a pretty looking version of the stock unit..

Keep in mind, the reason for the oem box setup, is to keep noise levels down, just LOOK at the oem unit , it has branches, off of it, that go nowhere, its just for sound..

Then i want you to LOOK at the side panel, where the oem airbox is, the hole is tiny, compared to the box, do you really think that it would supply enough air, to a 6 litre engine..

Also, i mine as well really bum out, the Airdoc users, how could using a larger tube, really help your engine, at the end of the day, your still using the oem box, AND vent holes...

My opinion is K&N is the only way to go, just look at the web, what is everyone using, be it cars, trucks or bikes..

Those Volant OEM type setups, do not work as well as a open air box, don't buy into hype, they are just pretty looking boxes..

Yes, Yes, Yes, some warm air will enter the K&N setup, but so will a vast more of air, way more then would ever enter the oem or Volant type..

Also a added benefit.... it sounds F'ING GOOD...

Yes the Silicone Radiator hoses are nice, fit perfect, and from what i understand, they outlast the stock units, twofold..

I solved my problem-bought a spectre filter with a lip at autozone. Everything fits great now except all that hot engine air I'm getting now I'm losing about 35hp.
No, really I can't tell any difference except the exhaust sounding a little better and it looks cool!

..my kit came with some heavy duty weatherstripping that lines the box edges so no problem there.

I tried adding my throttle body spacer and found out a coolant hose runs THROUGH the bottom of the throttle body. I guess just to keep the hose clear of everything. Anyway, I had to get a longer piece of hose from the TB to the head as it wasn't long enough with the spacer.
Then after all that, the TB stuck out too far to put the intake on. So now I'm like, " great, there goes that extra 15 hp and 10mpg lol!"

My buddy did the TBS and said his truck sounded cooler after-only reason I got one ok???

BTW, after a much needed cleaning on the MAF and TB she idles and runs soo much better. I'm going to start running some fuel cleaner more often due to the crap ethanol gas everywhere.

No air intake is going to give any measurable gains in HP, torque, acceleration, anything without supporting mods such as an exhaust (headers such as LT's and a free flowing exhaust) and tune. I am not sure what all the hype is about intake sound but my Volant/AirDoc setup definitely throws sound out as well.

It all depends what you want. If you want a high quality setup for a $60-70k vehicle then go with a name brand which doesn't suck hot air. My truck is my baby so it only gets the best. If you want to save some money and don't mind sucking in all the hot engine air and probably ripping up your hood insulator then go with a cheaper setup that is open and seals to the hood insulator.

To each his own, we've argued the points enough in this thread.

I run a Volant pre-filter as well so absolutely nothing gets through my setup which is vital in the dry and dusty AZ air.
