Default Cold air intake install questions

Hey all, just bought my first Hummer H2 10 days ago and am doing my first mod. Cold air intake, (no name brand off ebay).

couple of questions:
1. when disconnecting the negative battery terminal will I have any issues with the anti-theft mechanism on the radio?

2. I think I have all the necessary parts but one concern with is the air indicator button that is located on the OEM intake tube by the throttle body. I don't see any place to put this on the a/m assembly. Is there an un-neccessary part then and if so, will I have any trouble with engine codes if I remove it?

I've attached a photo of the kit (the actual filter and 2nd silicon hose is not pictured) and the air indicator in question.

3. How exactly does the MAF fit in between the silicone hose and the clamps? does it attach to something or just fit snugly in between once you tighten the clamps?

Any help or tips are appreciated, thanks!

I purchased a no name cai kit from ebay, cost me 82.00, and i am very happy with it, my mpg went up, .06 of a mile more, since installing it, and the sound is great...

My opinion, you don't need to buy a name brand like k&n, for 400.00, all you are doing is paying 4x what you should for the slightly better air filter, don't believe all the hype surrounding the more expensive cai kits...

What i found was after reconnecting the neg cable, i had to reset all the settings on my pioneer dvd player, other then that, no problems. ..

As to the air indicater button, its not needed, that only shows you if the filter is restricted due to dirt, with your kit, you will be able to see the dirt, then just clean the filter...

Just look at the pictures of mine, you will see how the maf fits...

Very easy install..

No sound clip, again, as my post said, no name, as to .06 miles, the dash readout, went from 7.4 mpg to 8.0, sometimes 8.1, hence the .06 mpg increase, and i haven't changed my driving style...

I recall it mentioning an increase in hp, don't recall how much, it said...

It is a nice setup, i am happy...

This is the link to it, i think...

How do those hard edges on the air box seal to the hood without damaging the hood liner? Sucking in hot engine compartment air will negate the potential benefits of a "cold air" intake. Factory is a true cold air as it brings the air in through the fender. That was why I went with a Volant box paired with an AirDoc tube. Sure much more expensive of a setup but you do get what you pay for.

Here we go again, the whole idea is getting more air into engine, not necessarily cold air, with your setup, you are limiting the total amount of air into the engine, true your setup looks pretty, but not as effective as a k&n type setup..
