cold air intake for 2008 H2
Yeah, that's it. The hood makes a tight seal. Air is also being forced into the box that was created which comes with the rubber gasket you see in the picture. Is it worth it. I don't know, probably not on it's own. But I changed my exhaust and just put a new engine in and had the heads ported. Everything adds up in small increments. Don't expect a return on your investment, but the sound is awesome.
Just got you message. It is totally sealed to the firewall. I will take a better pic in the morning when I can see out there.

Also Miami when you said you changed the filter over, and it made a difference to the economy, can you elaborate ? I swapped my OEM out for an aFe Power core (dry) at same time i did the airdoc. So when my economy improved i couldn't be sure which was responsible.
I.got an airdoc a few weeks ago and is great, I haven't seen any change in fuel economy but looks clean and let.me do a.quick check on the coolant hoses water pump.etc which I barely see with theach oem intake
A while ago I replaced the Oem filter for a airaid dry (red) filter and the Mpg dropped to 8 in less than a week . The lowest I got before swapping the filter was 9.5
In your case I can't tell what made the difference. In my the airdoc didn't do any change and the washable filter was disastrous.
Thanks for the info on the cold air intake .

Thanks for your thoughts on the audio system. Here are the pics I promised now that I can see better. The housing box uses the windshield washer supply unit as the rear wall and there is a small gap to the left rear corner to the back firewall. However, it works in theory based on thermodynamics.
Hot air technically does not rise. It is displaced by the cooler more dense air which pushes it out of its way. So the cooler air coming in from the side of the unit keeps the warmer air out. You can see how tight the seal is by looking at the hood liner pic.
Hope that makes sense. I like the way it looks and everyone quite trying to sell me a new air filter every time I have an oil change done or the car is in the shop. That may be the biggest savings I have had from it. lol

X2 much better tight seal than I thought. And the filter compartment is huge . The small gap could be fix it with some creativity.
Is it possible to use the box with airdoc
Thanks for the pics
