Changing tire size on my H3......
#22
Size does affect the speedo slightly. 285's are standard on Adventure series H3's. 265's on other models. 315's look killer, but if your gonna go off road and you really want to make sure your suspension has the ability to fully articulate, stick with the 285's or 265's. 315's will only bind or rub if your stretching the legs out on your truck ( mud, rock, ect.). Leveling the front for street use is perfectly fine when adding the larger shoes. Of course, you could alway run 315's on the street and put your smaller tires on spare rims for off road play.
Most guys on the forum agree that adjusting the torsion bars properly can lift your nose an inch or two more with no side effects. Longer shocks are always recommended, as is an alignment after the work is done.

Sorry for the late response, I was on the road. I cranked the torsion bars just enough to get off the bump stops. Center of wheel to bottom of fender flare is 23 1/4". It would run just fine without the torsion bar crank up. Slight rubbing when turned hard over on the stop. No big deal at all. So far I'm very happy with the tires. Over the next 3 weeks they get the big test. Approx 5500 miles of driving from NY to AZ/UT/CO and back with off road trips in AZ/UT/CO. I'll report when I get back.

I've run 325/50-22 Terra Grapplers on my H3. Just 2 full turns on the torsion bars and no problems. This is a HUGE tire in both width and height, so I don't understand why everyone seems so scared and apprehensive about this talk of 305's and 315's. Maybe it's because you're using the stock rims with such a high offset? These were +20, which I guess would put my tires a little less than 3/4" outward (the center of the wheel) but keep in mind too that these were 9.5 wide which would eat up some of that offset since it's a wider rim. Anyway, 325/50-22's fit with +20 offset rims @9.5" rim width. For what it's worth, hope this helps!
