Default Changing tire size on my H3......

I am considering changing my tires on my H3. Currently riding stock P265/75R16 tires. If I go up to P285/75R16, do I need to recalibrate my speedometer? If so, how does one accomplish this? Is it a big expense to do this?

As I understand it you need to reprogram your PCM. The dealership can do it of course, but so can others like pcmforless.com. I'd call them.

Right on! The PCM needs to be programmed to calibrate the speedo.

I went from the 285 to the 315 and its off exactly by 5 miles. So if I am going 60 I am really going 65. We GPS it !

Hey Tinked, did you raise the front end to get the 315 to fit or you don't need to?

I just went from 285's to the new Goodyear MT-R with kevkar tires in the 315-75/16 size. I raised the truck 1" but had them mounted prior to raising the truck. I didn't have to raise it I just wanted a little extra ground clearance in the front.

You were 100% Duped. On the bright side, 265's likely give you the best value, on-road performance and fuel economy.

I'm in for a new set of tires this weekend and I'm still going back and forth between 265's and 285's.

I was told that I could not run 315's on factory rims. Is that true??
