Default Car Wash / Power Wash Engine??

Well I searched and searched and could not find this one... so I'm asking. Anyone power wash or use the car wash to clean their engine compartment? I have in the past with other cars, used the light spray at the car wash to wash my engine compartment. I would leave the engine running and wash off the dust and light grime. Is this OK to do with the H3?

Thanks!

I have with my other vehicles, but have not yet with the 3. I always put a plastic bag over the computer, and then just wipe that down..

Bunch of times, but better to use Simple Green (or other engine cleaner), rinse with the hose and wash with an old wash mitt, followed by CD-2 Engine Detailer. https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/d...detailer-6973/

Thumbs up

What Doc said^^^^^except the DC-2 detailer. I have to check that out.

Have done it several times with all my vehicles, including the H3's. Always wipe everything dry and clean afterward.

Well you guilted me into cleaning the engine... Simple green followed by car wash pressure on low, then Black Magic (could not find any of the stuff you suggested). Looks as good as new.

Wife is laughing at me. She said that for the first 6 years I never lifted the hood, now I'm living under there...

My wife chuckles at my "addiction" too.

My wife dont chuckle so much as she just shakes her head or complains. She even one time said, sometimes I wish I was your truck, then I would get a lot more attention from you....
