Swapped out both position sensors and changed oil check engine light still comes on and after checking with code reader still says it the cam shaft positions sensor

1) You bothered to indicate year and model with miles on the clock;
2) what the actual code/code were that are being thrown; and,

there is an oil control valve for the cam that is probably bad

 

The engine seems to come on when I go on a long drive like 2hr plus

Known problem with many Atlas motors, more likely with high miles. The Camshaft Actuator Solenoid screens get crudy, dirty, goobered up, and or may even fall out,
