Default Brake bleeding issues

Changed a front caliper today as one piston was seized. Removed the caliper, forgot to pinch the line, went and purchased new caliper and installed. Bleeding the line (bleed srew closed, pump the brake pedal and hold, open bleed screw, close bleed screw, pump...)..getting lots of air very little fluid..did the pump, bleed thing about 60 times...what am I missing here? maybe air in the line to the abs?

Lots of air, because you're filling the caliper, also.
Plus, you may have lost a lot from the open hose.

Good luck. Keep pumping.
