Dr drew had a really in depth post on here that i used when i did mine. I tried to get it made a "sticky" because of it being a common issue, but.... If i remember right there are three actuators. One on drivers side, one behind the center climate control and one behind the glove box.

Good info from TeeStu with the exception that on my 2005, the defrost actuator was to the right of the steering wheel, in other words to the center. It was a pain in the butt to get the upper bolt out and then align the 3 pins on the cam (will make sense once you get it apart).

Thats a great post . Will follow his route. For now the passenger side is blowing hot but I can said none of the 3 are in good condition.
Will end replacing all of them .
Thanks

If you have ever disconnected the AC control panel on the dash they might just need to be re-calibrated....
I ran into that on mine after I changed out the backlighting to red. Afterwards the passenger side blew about twice as hard as the drivers side. I did also have to replace the upper one on the passenger side - that is the most difficult one to do. I pulled the entire upper dash out to do it which was actually not as hard as I thought it would be.
There is a manual way to do it (last step below) as well as with a Tech2. Cannot hurt to try. This is from the GM eSI system...
Re-Calibrating Actuators
When replacing the HVAC control module it will be necessary to allow the HVAC control module to perform a calibration process. When installing the HVAC control module be sure to perform the following:
Important
Do not adjust any controls on the HVAC control module while the HVAC control module is self-calibrating. If interrupted, improper HVAC performance will result.
Preferred Method (w/ Scan Tool)
•Clear all DTCs.
•Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
•Install the HVAC control module or actuator that needs replaced.
•Connect all previously disconnected components.
•Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
•With the scan tool, initiate the Motor Re-calibration feature of the Heating and Air Conditioning Special Functions menu.
•Verify that no DTCs have set as current DTCs.
Alternate Method (w/o Scan Tool)
•Clear all DTCs.
•Place the ignition switch to the OFF position.
•Install the HVAC control module or actuator that needs replaced.
•Connect all previously disconnected components.
•Remove the HVAC B fuse for a minimum of 10 seconds.
•Install the HVAC B fuse.
•Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
•Wait 40 seconds for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate.
•Verify that no DTCs have set as current DTCs.

looks like when i disconnected the battery to do my led conversion for headlights and fogs, one of the actuator went haywire. bought a replacement one on amazon for $25 and hope it will solve the issue. The one that went bust is the easy one by the passenger side (i was getting hot on passenger and cold on driver). this forum is a wealth of knowledge and I thank the guys that are here helping us.
