I have noticed that the back of the trucks interior has started turning white, has anybody had this problem? What did you do to fix it?

 

Have not seen that. Do you use Armorall on the plastic? Is it carpet and vinyl or just vinyl.

 

sounds like uv damage coupled with the armor all. consider some addtional window tint with a quality protectant

 

Never cleaned it with armorall, and its barely ever in the sun, I did search about it and found some links but nothing that really explained the problem.

Are you talking about plastic, cloth seats, carpet, leather, vinyl??? More info would help...

Any possibility of mold? Got any water leaks. Mold is often pinkish white. Still under warranty?

 

Did you buy the H3 brand new or used from the dealer? What typically happens with the discolouring of plastic/vinyl/rubber trim is someone has used a cleaning agent that contains butyl cellosolves and is VERY alkaline/caustic. This is very common at dealerships because the waterbased degreasers of that type are very inexpensive and clean like crazy. What typically happens is the darker coloured plastics/rubber/vinyl will appear washed out and turn a white/chalky colour. If this is the case all you can really do is clean the affected areas really well with a mild and properly diluted all purpose cleaner and then dress the areas with a high quality dressing like 303 protectant. Armor All will work but 303 has a higher grade of resins/silicones and will probably work better. Stay away from any dressings that are clear/blue/purple (any colour other than white basically) as these are solvent based and are very harmful to plastic and vinyls in the long run. Hope this helps.
