I have the Airaid Quick Connect. It keeps the bottom of the OEM box. It is louder and it does give me a noticeable difference in pick up but can't say that it does anything for the MPG. Glad I got it though, but I'm not sure that it's the "answer" by itself. You will still need to look into the PCM tune to complete the HP gain that you are looking for.

Your HUMMER dealer should have this or any GM parts site.

The GM CAI looks sweet, but it's pricey!

I'm w/ rhill20. Got the Airaid and I liked the performance gain immediately. I later added a Gibson exhaust and pcmtune. I've never seen a mpg increase but I have seen a performance increase. You will likely see a mpg decrease after the install for a while as you stomp the accelerator more to hear and feel the new filter install.

The problem I have with the Airaid is that I offroad and worry about water getting in through the open box. There have been custom jobs on this forum where they used the stock airbox and cut larger holes in the fender wall to allow more air through. That seems like a good compromise but more work.

The other great debate here is that filters like the Airaid allow more dirt particles to get through - and living in a very dusty area that's a concern too. When we offroad in summer you often can't see the vehicle thirty feet in front of you. So, it's a risk I'm taking right now. I still have my stock airbox stored away in case I want to go back.

That GM kit is funny. A genuine chrome plastic whimpy 3" pipe and chrome plastic lid and a filter for an arm and a leg, plus first born child price to go along with it.

True Flow started with a good idea, but did not go far enough. Would if you could go all the way with a complete system, at a lower preice???? Cool!
