Another tire question....
So I am about ready to update the tires on my H3. I have the leveling kit installed so I could go 37s but I think I'd actually like to stay with 35s but go wider, scared to take a big hit on my mpg's.... Whats the widest tire size you can get on the stock rims?
I am normally a die hard Maxxis Buckshot guy, agressive look.... but i'm afraid they will be to narrow to get the look i want.
help please

tate what are you running now? 35x12.50x16 or 315/75R16 are what alot of us are running but you will see the decrease in mpgs... about 1 or 2 depending...
however thats a 35" all the adventure packages came with 33"s in a 285/65/16 size, however you can go wider with a 305/70/16 and still not take too much of a hit in mpgs...

i gotta have my mud tires... i didn't buy a hummer to get great mpg's...lol
the guy who did my leveling kit said be careful going up to a wide 35 cus it could break through the fender well if you hit a big bump or you were doing some rough wheeling. that plus the other threads about 35's mpg scares me a lil.
i guess i'll try to find a wider 33. i guess a 305/70/16 is the best fit for that?
thanks for all your help man.

Bunk! There's only a gagillion of us running 35's and wheel them all the time, my tires have never touched my fenderwells. But I also don't act a fool, I have had mine in a bind but going slow and easy got me out of every pinch with out damage. Only time I ever saw any fenderwell damage was a guy that came blowing down the trail at my deer camp and hit a stump, broke tie rod end and caused him to nose off in the ditch. He damaged a lot more than the fender well but shouldn't have been showin his azz. He was about a case into a 4 case weekend ride when he did it...

yeah 305s would be good... but my 315s have never done anything bad to my H3... however I wouldnt listen to the advice of anyone that says to go with those leveling kits... (re index keys are nothing but torsion bar adjustment pieces)

We have had 4 different H3/H3Ts with 315s (35"s) and have NEVER had any issue with the tires coming close to the fenders and we wheel all of them pretty well!
As far as the size, If you don't want a 315 (35"x12.5x16) listen to Dagkana and go with a 305/70R16 it will be about 33" tall and 12 1/4" wide DEPENDING ON THE BRAND. The 285/75R16s you have right now are about 33" tall and 11" wide.
