Air compressor

I have a 2003 h2 and when I bought it air suspension was already switched to coil springs. The compressor would keep running so I disconnected the wires going to it underneath the rear bumper. Now it makes a ticking noise all night. Any ideas what this is. Thanks in advance

Mine did this till I disconnected the two ride height sensors in the rear wheel wells. I get the 'service air suspension' message, but the ticking stopped.
