what about 6.5" subs in the rear doors ... that would replace the crappy "bass speakers" .. jl and kicker (and probably others) make 6.5" subs. some cld on the doors to stop vibration

Default aftermarket subwoofer for H3T

I purchased a Sound Ordinance BP8 from Crutchfield for my H3T.

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_777B8PT...PT.html?tp=114

For $200, it came shipped to me with an amp kit for installation. It is a flat 8" sub with built in amp. It got good reviews, so I thought I would try it. I used to have the JL Audio Stealthbox in my last H3 (which I have for sale, BTW), so I am used to a good amount of clean bass. Although this does not go quite as deep, I am very happy with the sound. With a little adjusting, it makes a huge improvement over the sound system. You could easily install two of these under the back seat, but I went with just one because I have another amp and an inverter installed under there.

Overall a great investment for $200 and I recommend it to any H3T owner.

Halo, do you have any pics of the unit under your seat?

View from the side. Allows for easy adjustments.

View from front. Jack is still in the original location. This setup could be mirrored to the other side to have two subs.

Thanks for the pics Halo! That is a tight squeeze, but looks like it will still fit ok.

What purposed does the amp on the other side serve, just out of curiousity. Also, does the subwoofer come with all the wiring and such or did you have to pick that up separately?

It is a tight fit, but works just fine. Looks kinda funny in pictures but is basically unnoticeable in person.

The other amp is to drive the upgraded front and rear speakers. I am changing it to a 6 channel amp so that I can also drive the speakers I have installed in the truck bed. Those are for tailgating, camping, hanging out outside the truck.

And yes the subwoofer ships with an amp install kit included, so it comes with everything needed.
