Has anybody replaced their factory ac compressor? I've got a '99 that is blowing pretty weak and the dealer wants $1,500 to replace it! Any help is greatly appreciated....it's hotter 'n dragon pharts here in Houston...

 

That is a ridiculous price for the compressor. I bought one off of Ebay for $100.00. Even Kascar has to be cheaper

 

cross referance it over to a General Motors compressor. i used one off of a 1999-2000 chev. suburban. same one.

 

maybe the hrm ac compressor shop will charge less than the dealer. I think a few people on here have run into your situation. If you choose to do the replacement yourself, you will save a great deal of money. It is not the easiest thing to do on a vehicle, but certainly not the hardest.
