I think it also has something to do with the year & model! 08' & above i think it says to run 89 & above, just check your manual! Mine's an 08' & i used to put 87-89 mix in it UNTIL i got the Tune & now its ONLY 92-93 just because that's the tune i had put on it! Even though its a lil' more Expensive to run the higher octane, doing a Tune was the BEST thing i ever did to it!

Can you elaborate?
More efficient? Better acceleration? Does the engine struggle less?

MPG, not much difference (i think before it was like 11.3 or so & now its like 11.5-6 but he told me that before i did the tune) it's Mostly for acceleration, not really sure what you mean by engine struggle less? My 04' H2 was SLOW, but this 08' has around 90 or so More HP & Torque (you can check to see the exact amount) but like the guy that did the tune told me (& he's done quite a few on the older model H2's) that this 08' has A LOT more Torque & Power even after a tune on the Older versions. If you drive an 08'-09' & drive an 07' & Below, they're like NITE & DAY! jmo! NO Engine struggle on the Newer Models & that's BEFORE i did the Tune! I PROMISE you, if i'm rolling along in 1st gear around 20mph & get down on it, it will THROW you against the back of your seat & i mean THROW you! my tuner guy told me he's done a lot more tunes on the older models but compares it to a turtle, he said it just makes the turtle a lil' faster with a lil' more pep! But, its still just a turtle!

Probably the best way to know if to calculate mpg by hand & just test each octane (even brand since the additive make a difference).

I'll probably try this before committing to either 87 or 93.

Thanks.

I had an 03 till 2012. I miss that guy. I think I got rid of it around 120k miles mark. Drove/Rode like day 1. I have an 09 on the way (I'll have to post pics when it gets here), so that's why I'm asking.

My neighbor has a 2012 Yukon w/ the 6.2L (they are 403hp vs the 393hp) & he said the power is overkill. I'm glad to hear your experiences are the same in the H2.

Sounds like I didn't make the right choice. Should be a hell of an upgrade from a 2012 Ram 2500 gasser.
