87 vs 93 OCT
Congrats! Let's see the beast.... Post some pics!
93 = somebody had deep pockets.
I've never run higher than 87 in mine. The 93 is reserved for the CJ because I don't want ethanol running in old 70's motor.
At these prices the deuce might get a tank of 93. Lol

How do I add pictures
In your manual. I'm sure it's going to say 87. I'm just too lazy to go out and look. It's freezing!!!
You should be fine to go straight to 87 without issue. If you feel like weining it off the silver spoon. You could go1/2 tank 91 with the 93. And then 1/2 tank 91 and 87. Then just start running 87.
Let's face it... The reason most of us guys buying 03's (including myself) are buying them because they are finally affordable and within our grasp. Premium in my DD was gone with the recession. As JR said you may get a little better mileage, a little better throttle response but enough to justify the added expense. If you've got $$ money to burn...

I stumble through it myself so I hope my instructions work and are clear enough.

Octane rating is simply resistance to detonation. ie - allows higher compression without detonation or engine knock. In a clean good condition engine you only need to run the octane level recommended, there is no benefit to running higher.
Here in UT and other high elevation locations, regular gas is 85. That's what I run without issue.

I always put 87 octane fuel in my H2. It's designed to run perfectly good on regular fuel and it mentioned in your manual that you need to fill up your tank with 87 Octane regular one. If you put higher grade of fuel in your Hummer it doesn't do anything bad for it, but from another side doesn't bring many benefits either. And like guys mentioned in previous posts higher octane grade fuel could reduce a bit pressure on your engine with less micro- detonation in it, but as soon your engine designed to run on 87 Octane- don't worry!
Put regular gas and don't loose your money with higher grade fuel.

Great point. I only run 87 is mine. The highest we have here is 91 and that is typically only recommended by GM for higher performance or turbo vehicles. My wifes last car, a Saturn sky redline required 91 due to the turbo. My 06 GTO like 91 but I usually ran mid grade.
