I am a little confused when I am looking at 33/35 inch tire size because of couse they go by inchs. If for now I just want to use my stock 16inch rims and get bigger tires what should I be looking for?

Example 33in X 12.5 16 or is the width different?

Look at the metric sizes, they are more common.

33" diameter tires will be size;
285/75/16 for an approx. 11" wide tire
305/75/16 for an approx. 12.5" wide tire

35" diameter tires will be size;
315/75/16 for an approx. 12.5" wide tire

any of these sizes will go on stock 16" rims
