Hi guys,
I'm just wondering what are they suppose to do in 30k major service? I called 2 dealerships and one of them told me it costs $425 and the second told me $749. I wonder why is the price so different (they are 30miles from aech other) and what are they suppose to do on my car (I have H3-06).
How much did they charge you?

I just turned 30k on my 06 as well. I tried looking in the owners manual to see what it specifies for a 30k service and I couldn't tell there was one until 50k... did I miss something? Oil / filter change ... maybe even an air filter change and a tire rotate... Tranny fluid change and dif oil changes, radiator.... aren't until later. What else would there be for those $$ ??

 

May I humbly suggest, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

You have a maintenance shedule in your owner's manual, that's all you need to worry about.
Tires should be rotated every 6 - 7.5K miles if you want them to last.

When a stealership gets a phone call like the one you are describing, they pull a # out of thin air based upon how clueless they think you might be, or how slick they are.

 

I just took my 07 in for some other things to be looked at, and then he brought up the 30k service. The service guy highlighted, Fuel Injector Service - $129.95, Drive train fluid service - $139.95, Rear differential service - $119.95, Power steering flush - $69.95 and Brake system flush - $124.95

 

every 10k change oil & oil filter,tyre rotation then at 40k the same plus air filter .....minimum requirment from GM
