Hello all, I’m trying to install a brake controller harness, I found the four wires underneath steering wheel area, does anyone know what corresponds to the harness wires? The wires on the H3 are green, red (orange) brown and black with a white stripe, The harness for the brake controller wires are red, white, blue and black. Does anyone know what colors match up or I’m supposed to connect to? I’ve been searching like crazy online and I’m not able to find what colors go to what. Any help is greatly appreciated

 

Heavy-Duty Trailer Wiring Package
The trailer towing harness contains the following
seven trailer circuits:
• Yellow: Left Stop/Turn Signal
• Dark Green: Right Stop/Turn Signal
• Brown: Taillamps
• White: Ground
• Light Green: Back-up Lamps
• Red: Battery Feed
• Dark Blue: Trailer Brake


Light-Duty Trailer Wiring Package
If your vehicle is not equipped with a trailer
towing package, the chassis harness will
contain the following blunt cut circuits:
• Yellow: Left Stop/Turn Signal
• Dark Green: Right Stop/Turn Signal
• White: Ground
• Brown: Tail Lamps

 

the light duty blunt cut wires Hummerz posted are in the harness at the rear bumper. There are also some blunt cut wires in the dash, between left side hvac controller and right side of driver foot well. IIRC those will provide fused power, ground and brake light signal to the brake controller. The wiring diagram shows the electric brake control wire blunt cut up front, but I was never able to find the other end in the back so ran dedicated wires from controller to connector for electric brake control on my non-factory-towing-optioned H3.
