Default 2007 Airbox

I was was under the hood this weekend, checking the oil and decided to check out my air filter since I haven't checked/changed it since I bought the truck in Nov. The air box was full of eveything from miniature pterodactyls, to sand, and dirt. Not to mention one of the corners of the lower housing was broken and doesn't seal to the top cover, which probably explains the giant bugs in there. My question is will the lower housing from a 2006 3.5L fit a 2007 3.7L? I know someone I work with that went with Volant and kept his OEM box just in case. I was told by the dealership part dept that the lower housing outlet angle on a 3.7L is turned towards the firewall a little more than a 3.5L (which sounded like complete bs) so I have to buy a new lower housing $380.
Thanks in advance

I do not know for sure, but there 2 ways to find out.

1. Ask your buddy to borrrow his and see if it fits. Shoudl take no more than 10 minutes.
2. PM Doc Olds and ask him. He has knowledge of all the airbox differenes between 06-10.

I would just do #1 and if it fits, leave it there and pay your buddy!

I dont know about the angle but i do know the 06 and 07 are different. The 07 lower air box has a small filter located near the bottom,im not sure but looks like a egr pump-something to do with emissions. The 06 does not have that.I bought a 06 air box for the lid and noticed the difference.I never used the it so if anybody needs a 06 air box let me know.I hope this helps.

I tried my buddy's lower housing during our lunch break and noticed that it didn't have the smaller inlet (fresh air??) as mentioned, but didn't notice an difference in the angle. Luckily, I have tracked down another 07 lower housing that I will be getting tomorrow for $20. I'm glad that no one around here has been buying AirDoc's or I'd be screwed. Thanks for all your input, now I have to put my AirDoc order in
