Default 2006 H3 with some electrical gremlins

Hi, new here to the forum and to Hummer. I have a problem with a few areas.
First off, the drivers door is not being recognized as being open or closed. The radio stays on after getting out, until I open another door. I switched the door jamb switch with the passenger side switch with no luck as the switch works fine in the passenger door.
Second, the keyless door remote works but does not lock or unlock the doors.
I have tried a trick that I stumbled upon on this site of touching the two battery cables ( un-attached of course) no luck.
I was gonna pull the BCM relays and or fuses but didnt know what to expect as I need this vehicle to go to work. Just didn't want any unexpected surprises and don't want to take it to the dealer.
Also, the manual says that I can program the key fob so I followed the directions in the manual and no luck ther either. I took the key fob to Orielly's and tested it on their counter remote tester, it does work.
I am just stumped with this.
Can anyone help. Thanks.

the door sw wires need to be traced if the sw is good.
the remote must be programmed by a dealer with his super scan tool..
you can download the manual for $ 15

Does the window motor and or mirror control work properly? I would check the fuss for the door if it has one, otherwise yea the BCM is more than likely the culprit...

Did you get an aftermaket or used key fob?

Thanks for the replies. I had thought about trying to swap the wires from the front to the back or splice them together.
The remote is the original as far as I know.
The door simply just doesn't recognize that it is open or closed. Windows, locks, and mirrors work. I guess it would have been to easy for it to have been the door jamb switch as that was easy to change. lol
I really wished that another door or even the back door would of had a way to unlock just in case the key tumbler was screwed up.

After reading a few threads on this subject I am starting to feel like leaving this thing alone and living with what I have. It looks like I could make things worse by screwing aroud with it.

So when you put the passenger door jamb switch in the drivers side it still didnt recognize that the door was open/closed? If not, like DrTom said, check the wires. Checking those for corrsion shouldnt make things worse.

I took a small razor blade and scraped out the terminals on both the switch and wires. Is there any other way to check for corrosion.

if u touch those wires together and nothing happens, u gotta trace them to where they go,,,to see if they get there!!.

you need to buy a manual, download,$15

happy wire tracing!!

not sure but i think all door switches go together, except the driver
