I have a 2006 Hummer H3 and the center console (one between the seats) doesn't latch shut. The dealership got a new part for me and I replaced it but the cover doesn't actually latch shut. I think something (a part) is missing. It seems to me like there should be a spring in there. Does anyone have a diagram of the console? I can't find one in my catalog. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

If you have the little plastic holder, turn it 180 degrees. My 06 wouldn't latch until I turned it around. My 08 and 10 are clearly marked as which end to have forward. Just a thought.

 

the latch on my '06 broke too but rather than replacing the latch i just chose to let gravity do it's job

 

if you dont lift it,it pretty much just lays there!! almost like it wuz latched

 

I'll try turning that around, but I don't think that's it. It seems like there should be some pressure coming from a spring or something to keep the latch closed or at least keep it in place. Mine just flops around inside of the armrest.
