anyone here ever had the little plastic piece that retracts when you push in the center console button break before? and can you fix/glue it back or replace just the little part? The black button itself is not broken just the piece that retracts which is about an inch long. I have removed the 10 screws plus the ones holding the hinge on and still can't get the top of the console seperated from the rest so I can access where the small plastic piece broke. thanks for any help!

 

Is it the part on the CONSOLE or the LID??

the manual says removing those 11 screws on the inside of the console lid should allow the inner panel to come off. there may be some sort of glue holding it on, try putting a scraper blade under it to pry it off. then there's a retaining clip that holds the latch in. you'll probably have to replace the whole latch assembly, i doubt any glue would be strong enough to hold it together if the plastic is broken.

 

thanks for the replies. i have ordered the little plastic release button/latch piece for $65 stinking dollars. what a ripoff. looks like i'm gonna get them to install it before i do further damage.
