More GM bull-@#$% ?? My wifes H2 is stranded in Tampa. She stopped at a rest stop and when she came back to the car she started it up no problem, however the shifter has no tension, the gear indicator on the dash does not come out of park and the car wont move. The cable is broken! We had AAA tow her to a dealer and of course they wont be back till Monday. Does anyone know if this is a recall item? Has anyone else had this problem? What did it cost to fix? Thanks for the help in advance....

 

I dont think its a really expensive fix. Not aware of any recalls. Just one of those things.

 

I seem to remember someone on here looking for a shifter cable because they were on back order. I hope thats not the case. If it was me I would crawl under the truck and put it in gear and drive home.

 

My wife left it at a chevy dealer in Tampa and we will have to wait till monday to see about how long to get the cable? Worst case I will get it using he vice grip method and order the cable local. unless theres a better idea?????

 

Final cost was $260 for part and 2hrs labor
