Hey Guys/Gals,

I have an 06 H2 Lux. It currently has 37in Toyo MT's on 20's. I do take it up to the mountains about 6 times per yer. Only one time is fairly aggressive during Elk season for a few weeks. I do tow a 27 travel trailer at the moment and I am very pleased with its performance. But the " kid" in me still wants it to be lifted because I think it looks awesome and you only live once. I realize that I will sacrifice some ride by doing this.

My Question is about towabilility and other sacrifices or issues I may not be considering when deciding to lift it. Also is it better to go 4 in or 6 in lift? are there certain lift kits to stay away from with a H2?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Have you cranked your tbars? Just cranking the torsion bars and taking off the nerfs alone will give you quite some ground clearance.

 

I have the leveling kit on it with the different keys up front and I have no rubbing of any kind. I still have the knerf bars though?

 

Take the nerf bars off. This may sound petty; but take the nerfs off and look at how much crazy ground clearance you get. Those are a huge hang-up on trucks. And I think w/ those off, you will be pleasantly surprised how boss your hummer ends up looking.

 

rancho, fabtech,cognito. any of those companies would be good. when putting a lift on a torsion bar vehicle it doesnt change the ride at all. Its the wheels and tires that change the ride. Go for it! like you said you only live once.

Here are some pictures. IT has the leveling lift with the keys swaped out and has 37in Toyo's on 20's. I know it looks like a pavement princess, but I do use it in all capacities. Towing, Hunting, Grocery getter etc. The other option photos are just some custom things I have done for these.

 

Considering you have 37s on the H2 already what are you trying to gain by lifting it? The suspension lift just allows you to put bigger tires, it doesnt give you more ground clearance. It is the bigger tires that give you more ground clearance. I have a Rancho 4" lift and I am running 37x13.50x22 Mud Grapplers. Basically the same tire as you but my truck is about 4" higher and has alot more wheel well but the same ground clearance as your H2 because we have the same tire size. The rancho lift allows me to put 40" tires on which would give me a extra 1.5" of clearance over you. So basically if you lift it, your truck will be higher but your ground clearance will stay the same unless you get bigger tires. Here is a pic of my H2 with the rancho kit.

That looks good with the 4 inch Rancho. As I said, i really only wanted to lift because I like how it looks and it will give me more room for articulation when I do take it up to mountains. I do not 4 wheel it hard or anything, but I think it would be pretty cool. Bye looking at your pic I do think the 6 in would be too much with the 37s. I do not intend on going to a larger tire.
