I would never go over 85 in the H3. I have tried cruising at 80 on the 15 and it scared the **** out of me. And thats not because I have never driven that fast before.

I have done 130+ in a C5
I have done 120+ in a 4thGen Firebird

There is just something with the floaty feeling in the H3 after 80.

Just remember that tires are speedrated because of temperature. When they overheat they will blow out. I know the H3 tires are not rated for those speeds, not to mention flying throught the California Desert during summer.

I had a Cadillac STS that I got to 142 a few times and probably could have gone a little past that but like you said that last gear is soooo tall it takes forever to get anywhere regardless of the type of car.

Heh, my sled (snowmobile) tops out at 145-150. I wrecked it this past winter (rolling it) at 100+mph

I've been in cars very fast, but its only on an open road one time deal to prove the car can do it. After my sled accident, I've learned to not "test" what things are made of. [8D]

Fastest in my H3 I'd say was 90mph in fast moving traffic for a brief period of time... I wouldn't want to go over that or near that in the future... just doesn't feel safe.

I take it you have never broken the speed limit?

Also, if you live in michigan, you would know this is how half the state drives. I'm more worried about drunk drivers than I am worried about speeders.... I've called in two police calls for drunk drivers in the past year alone who couldn't even control their car.

Here in outbackAustralia we have to drive like this or it would take forever to get to where you want to go.

I've been to Michican a few times to see Ohio State pound the Wolverines. But I was never passed by anyone doing anything near 100mph. If I did I would turn them in.
