Default '08 valve replacement... recall/ warranty fix?

i previously had an 06 H3 and ended up giving it up for something a little easier on gas for my commute. well im in the market for another one and i found an 08 with low miles and in great condition.
the dealership thats selling it told me it couldnt be test driven at the moment because it is having "something with the valves fixed. they had to drop the transmission to get it all done. It has a recall on it."

my question, what recall?? ive searched and cant find anything regarding a recall with the valves and i wouldnt think that it would be fixed under any type of factory warranty. But somehow its being fixed by a GM dealership for the Toyota dealership that is selling the h3.
Sound like bull to anyone else? maybe the salesperson misunderstood what exactly is going on? im going to keep pressing to find out exactly what is being replaced and im going to ask to see the "recall" info.

was hoping someone here could enlighten me if there is some type of recall, TSB or something.
thanks!

Sounds like BS. There are only 2 H3 recalls-the hood louver flying off and the blower motor fix that is in the works.

The valves on the 06 are covered under a TSB iirc for the Colorado/Canyon that applied to all Atlas engines at the time. The hardened valve seats are in all the 3.7l motors.

yep, thats what i remember reading as well. if it were an 06 i would assume it was related to that TSB. but since its an 08, with the 3.7, im not quite sure. if i find anything worth reporting i'll post it up this week.

So apparently the salesperson completely misunderstood what was going on. The h3 actually had a problem where it got stuck in Park and wouldnt shift out of it. So they sent it to a GM dealership and paid approx $900 (showed me the invoice) to fix it. It mentioned an Engine code that came up but i cant remember what it was. Shes going to email a copy of the service invoice so i can look at it again.

Should that be something to worry about? Being a recurring problem?

Should what be something to be worried about????? You provided zip information, except that it got stuck in park.

Do you think the code or invoice detail might be important?????
Ask your question when you have enough information to post here to get an informed response.

I suppose i should have mentioned that i would provide the codes when i got the invoice.

well i got the invoice. Codes were C0268 and P1815. From an internet search it looks like p1815 is a bad switch which im guessing prevented it from leaving Park. That was fixed.
C0268 is "Class 2 Data Error Reported" according to an old post on another Hummer forum. Could that one be paired with P1815, and not a separate issue?

This is a vehicle i am looking at purchasing. The dealership has an 06 w/ 55K miles and this 08 (w/ adv package) w/ 66k miles. prices are pretty close together.
Is it possible for these codes to pop up again even though the switch was replaced? A reason to steer away from the 08 and look at the 06 instead? Just trying to be an educated buyer so i dont get into something that may have recurring issues.

i have attached a picture of the invoice for reference.

Get the 08 Adventure. Bigger motor, 4:1 xfer case, locker. No brainer. I wouldn't worry about the condition if the carfax doesn't show repeat problems there.

08 will be purchased friday. We test drove it overnight and we love it. At least if we do have any more issues ill know where to go for solutions/fixes. Ill be sure to include codes, specifics etc up front

Sidenote: I love the location of the window switches compared to the 06 i used to have haha!
Thanks for responses
