Red face 08 hummer h3 transmission slipping

can someone help me out would be greatly appreciated, my wife 08 hummer h3 just started having some issues, first the temp gauge stops working and ac flashes in the instrument panel. I seen the post about the ect sensor, but my transmission is slipping, I put in a new radiator about 2/3 months ago.it seems like the transmission starts slipping when the vehicle has been driven for a little while. Right nw I have it parked, I'm taking it to a transmission shop wed, just not sure if that is the best idea, the Carlot will not work on my vehicle. So I am here searching for help. The vehicle only has 144404 miles on it. I haven't smelled anything like burning or overheating, the temp gauge reads up to a little past the half marker which I think it says 1/3 rt when its parked and running, when its running the temp reads half,he only issue I seen was the temp gauge drps and the ac light flashes. Which I'm not sure if that will cause the transmission to slip.i just knw it's a 5 cyl vehicle, vortex 3700 , I believe.lol I'm not a mechanic, but I will try myself to fix if I can.instead of paying the price some ppl ask for especially if that's not the issue. If anyone can help thanks. I'm going to purchase the ect sensor we'd also that's when I get my disab ck. thanks Lu john hernandez. Sorry I forgot the only thing my vehicle,I see that reads is , I need a oil change then service tpm, which I'm not sure what that is. Also service stab sys. Thanks again

Have you checked your transmission fluid level? That would be the first thing to check. And do you know if the transmission fluid and filter have been changed ever?

Yes it was a little short on transmission fluid but I put some in it, and don't think the transmission fluid or filter has been changed.

I would start there. It is not hard to do. And if you do a search here on the site I believe someone did a step by step with pictures. I'll see if I can find it if you can't. You will save a lot of money doing things yourself. I was amazed at the difference in just changing the fluid and filter how much smoother it shifted. I can imagine that your filter and fluid are probably pretty dirty. Overdue for a change. If that doesn't help it then obviously there is another problem, but you need to get fluid and filter changed anyway. Good luck and let us know if you need any help.

Did you change the filter and fluid before spending $2800? Transmissions will slip if the level is low. Ours was slipping because it was low. Changed the fluid and filter and it is like new. Your trans may be shot, but if it's just the filter and low fluid that's a much cheaper route. What did the transmission shop check out, and what did they tell you? Let us know what happens.
