Default 03 H2 Rear Hatch Problems

We have a 2003 H2 that has been stretched into a limo. Unfortunatley the rear hatch handle is broken, however we can remove the handle completeley and tug on the cable that should release the hatch but this doesn't work. It acts like it is locked even though we have tried every unlock button and all remotes. Unfortunatley there is a permanent partition inside the vehicle blocking access to the inside of the hatch. HELP! We really need to get this open, is there a way from outside after removing the rear access panel that I can manually unlock???

Off the top of my head those already would be the ways to do it, or try getting in from the outside anyway..

Hopefully tho you will think of something else before it comes to:

read is another thread somewhere on here where the owner banged on the hatch around the edges while applying pressure to the handle...in your case the cable....and the hatch opened. Seems that the retracting bolts around the outside of the hatch stick...especially if it hasn't been opened in a while. Might be worht a try and if it works be sure to lube the bolts before closing the hatch again.

^^^ THIS.

It sounds silly but it should work. And like he said, once you get in lube it good before closing it. The other thing I recommend is opening it each time you wash it. That's often enough to keep it working smoothly.
