Need a bit of help here. I searched the forum and did not see anything regarding changing out a H3T tilt steering wheel for one that tilts and is telescopic. I heard some part are interchangeable with other GM products. I rather keep the stock wheel and not resort to an aftermarket wheel just to gain a few inches towards the driver. I am 6'2", and to sit confortable in the H3T my arms are way over extended. Nope not fat either, so any help is greatly appreciated.

2007 H3 adventure and luxury with 5 speed. I needed telescopic steering, and really wanted steering wheel controls. It was quite a job to get the Cadillac XLR column controls on stalks to communicate correctly, ended up removing the resistors from h3 controls and soldering in the XLR controls. Installed a tilt telescope column from a Cadillac XLR, redesigned the telescope to travel 3 inches. The XLR column has nearly the same dimensions where it meets the H3 dash. It does not however have a key switch. Installed keyless proximity and pushbutton ignition. Steering wheel has heat, all controls. The cruise is actually still on left stalk, but I used 3 of the cruise buttons on wheel to control blind spot detection, and front/rear bumper parking sensors.
Thank you. I used an Easyguard passive keyless entry system with pushbutton ignition and remote starting, among several other options. I am not necessarily recommending the Easyguard, however I have not had any issues since install about 8 months and 6k miles ago. It did not come with any bypass for the Passlock. After performing tests on my factory ignition key switch, I decided to build my own bypass. The pushbutton ignition is seen in picture to the right of the column.
I studied dozens of columns before making a decision which I thought would be the easiest to convert. The more important considerations being the dimensions of the plastic surrounding column mating to the dash, and mounting brackets, overall length, and 4 wire airbag. I used my original steering sensor, took a little modification to mount it in place of the Cadillac sensor. I fabricated some brackets to accommodate the H3 mounting holes. The delay wipers are now on the right stalk, but the resistance values were completely different from the H3 switch, turn signals also different. H3 turn signals actually only use 2 wires, left gives one resistance value and right gives another resistance. I removed the resistors from the H3 components and soldered into the Cadillac stalks, hand wired for appropriate function. All steering wheel controls for the radio work perfectly, and I opted for the 2008 H2 cruise control switch that had paddle switch for tranny which now launches navigation on one button and Sirius xm on the other button.
The left stalk on the Cadillac has the cruise and headlights. I used the headlight switch to control 3 different modes on high beams - standard, high beam with bumper driving lights and Grill fog lights, all the above with oem above windshield lights.
This was an entertaining endeavor to say the least! Thanks again for the compliment. Mike
Also, I did not mention, the steering wheel itself is actually a new old stock for a Buick Lucerne. I was adamant about finding leather and wood, the Lucerne was the only model I found that color coordinates.
This Android 10 head unit has too many features to list, the navigation has the ability to interface with a front mounted camera and display AR, augmented reality, also lane change/vehicle ahead too close warning- I am impressed this function operates as smooth as it does. It can also interface with existing oem electronic ac/heat controls, which I did not utilize.
The front and rear cameras are able to interface with the bumper sensors, if something triggers a sensor the appropriate camera view and sensor illumination is seen on screen.
