Hello all, thanks for all the help thus far. I recently acquired my dream H3T alpha and I’m trying to tighten stuff up on it. It appears there is a leak at the muffler where condensation drips.
1. How critical is this?
2. Any recommended simple fix?
3. If I need to replace it, what’s the suggested upgrade that isn’t obnoxiously loud but sounds good.
If you were to go aftermarket CAT Back, I think your options are extremely limited for the H3T. I believe Billy Boat makes one to order with long lead time, and Gibson maybe? I can't remember chit, you'd have to do the online searching.
Probable go to a local exhaust shop that does stainless for customs and race vehicles and explore what options they can provide.
All OEM mufflers that I have ever seen have an exhaust condensation weep hole. It allows the "water" accumulated in the muffler to drain and not sit inside the muffler rotting it form the inside.
"Believe it or not, almost every muffler has a weep hole. And the purpose of the weep hole is to allow water -- a byproduct of the engine's combustion -- to escape. That way it won't sit there and rot the muffler from the inside."
