Hummer H3 For the Hummer driver who wants the rugged look and off road capabilities of the Hummer, but in a smaller size and with a more fuel economy friendly engine.

What is the best color to use in order to un-chrome a white H3?

What is the best color to use in order to un-chrome a white H3?

Personally, black does not seem right to me, neither does white.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Anyone used a different color and can show a picture?

Thanks

Use any color you want. I think black looks great. Here is a thread about a white hummer where all the chrome is blacked out. Before and after pics. https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/h...n-build-28786/

Primer grey might look interesting and high-tech if you want to do something different.

paint it your favorite color. I really like the flat black im seeing on new cars.
years ago they said flat was very hard to clean, like berries, bird do do. wonder if they found a fix?
I doubt that the spray cans would work well.

If/when I get around to de-chroming all the chrome parts including the grill will go to black.

Thank you,
I wish there was a SW where I could try several colors to see how it comes out.
Sorry, my English is not that perfect, but I thought about something like Greenish, Army / Gray, sort of the way they paint the ARB bumpers, with the color beeing not so smooth. Not sure how it is called.

Black and white looks good to me and easy to do. Lots of accessories come black anyway.
I think it is more subtle and functional looking rather than flashy colors.
But, like they say, it's your canvas go for it.

I think Black looks good. I saw one that had the grille, door handles, mirrors, wheels and the fake air intakes black and it was sweet. They used a satin finish.

Thanks for the reference Egroegart!

Yes Sgill, here's another black-on-white pic. Not a single piece of chrome on her. Hopefully you'll change your mind about the black!

Let us know what you end up doing, and deff post pics!
