Ways to improve gas milege???
Hello all, I am new to these forums. I got my first H3x on Saturday a 2007 and so far I love it. My question is what is the best way to improve gas milege in H3's. I have read some about certain after market exhaust systems that do this as well as increasing HP too. If this is true what recomendations does anyone have on what exhaust is best...
Thanks...
Thanks...

I don't know anything beyond the obvious...keep your foot out of the gas. I drove "eco-minded" on a tank of gas and got almost three mpg's better over the same route. I was surprised there was that much difference.

Other then what was already mentioned:
1) Loose the junk in the trunck (golf clubs, bowling *****, dead boddies, Know it all wife)
2) Take off the roof rails when not in use.
3) Keep tires properly inflated
4) Keep it tuned up
5) clean the air filter (especially the K&Ns when the MPGs go down its time to recharge)

I did a few modifictions which gave me some increased horsepower and improved gas mileage. First change out the airfilter to a K&N, then I did the Jet Performance Chip, throttle body spacer and MAF sensor. You will definately see an improvement from this. I haven't done the exhaust, but I'm certain a free flowing cat-back system would help as well.

I have heard and tried putting Nitrogen in my tires. Many Valvoline stores have got the new system to do this. I have not noticed a huge difference but I believe I gained a mile or two in the city and about 2 to 3 on the highway.

Our atmosphere is 78% Nitrogen. I am not a chemical engineer but I wonder why pure Nitrogen would improve MPG. I think NASCAR uses it but only because tire pressure is a little more consistent.
