2007 3.7L Automatic 112k miles.

Trans whine in 1st and 2nd gear. Almost sounds like a power steering pump thats low on fluid.
Whine is tied to the RPMS. The higher the RPMS the louder the whine.
No whine while coasting in any gear. No whine in P, N, 3rd or OD.
Trans fluid is full and is decently clean.

I had an idler pully replaced that was REALLY whining and this whine was masked by that louder sound.
Wish i would have known this "hidden" problem as i just bought the truck.

When was the last time you changed the Trans Fluid and Filter, the Transfer Case fluid, front and rear diff lube? Might as well ask about engine oil too.

Your T Case is more likely to make a whine sound than the Trans.

 

Unsure on trans, diffs, and t case fluid changes, just bought the truck. Oil has about 1500 miles on it according to the sticker.

I will look into the t case being the culprit. My (uneducated lol) guess just connected whines in certian gears to be trans related.
