Default torque converter bolts

I am working on my nieces 2008 H3 Hummer with 3.7L 5 cylinder. I know little about it and am replacing engine, I would like to know if any one knows how to remove torque converter bolts easily? Thanks

it is a royal pain but can be done. There is a special tool or you have to rely on creativity. I just watched a YouTube video. The guy used an 18mm socket he had ground down to short enough to fit between the flex plate and block. Then, he ground the sides so an open end wrench could be used to turn the bolt(s). One comment said the bolts can be turned with a T-50 torx bit.

Welcome to HF. You have responded to a thread posted near NINE YEARS AGO to a guy that posted one and only one thread/post. Please avoid that, stick to the front of the board.

Thank you in advance.
