Default Tire suggestions

I have a 2007 H3 Hummer basic
the back to tires are dry rotted
my rims are 16” and I guess 7.5” wide stock

would anyone know a 315/75/16 tire that will fit the rims that won’t break the bank around maybe $200 a piece to fit the stock rims
hummer has never been lifted by torsion bars and don’t plan on doing it

i have two dry rotted tires on the back and total of 3 different brand name tires and figure that’s a problem

100s of us have been running 315/75R16s on the OEM wheels (7.5" wide wheels) for years and years.

Don't know about finding a quality 315 @ $200ea.

Or running 305/70R16s (same width as the 315s, 33" diameter) for years and years.

And how’s the 315s on the smaller stock Rim for towing, since my other truck is going into bankruptcy this is the family vehicle. Also I have a small duck hunting boat I tow 3 hrs both ways when hunting.

315s eat a bunch of the I5 power even without a trailer. A small duck boat should not be a big deal. We talking like a 14-16' deep V, or a John Boat?
100s of H3s are running 315s and pull small trailers etc.

315s are not usually a full 35" diameter, more like 34.5" 305s are usually 33", both tires being the same width. Ask yourself, do you really need an additional 0.75" of extra ground clearance for whatever you are doing, to put up with reduced MPG and performance? Up to you, personal preference.

Here is my 07 w/ full host of performance and off road mods (Air Doc Intake, AFE Filter, PP TB, Efan conversion, MagnaFlow Cat back exhaust Roc Doc U Bolt Skidz, BA Winch Bumper, BA UCP, Rocky Road RRS on 305 MTZs) pulling a Big Block 2330 Bow Rider on tandem trailer from just S. of Milwaukee to NE of Detroit. The off road mods push the weight to nearly 6000# with me in it. 65-70MPH all the way after the fuel up. I would not try to do this w/ 315s with the I5.

Thanks for the replies, my sneak boat is probably 400lbs max, you’re right with the gas mileage, my Tacoma double cab was getting 16.7mpg I feel the hummer gets a little less but haven’t tracked it. I’d like to go to the Nitto Terra grapplers in 305/70r/16. I don’t persay off road but i do dry off road hunting ect. And looking at some specs the Nitto are within factory width of the stock wheels. I know guys say it’s not an issue. I’d like a wide stance without ruining wheel bearings or sacrificing gas mileage. my hummers in the shop, getting a front passenger cv axle replaced, new front drive shaft, and front differential bushing is shot my differential clunks around. Also having any rust cleaned up and under coated to prevent further rust. And I replaced the front jounces last week. So to make the vehicle last and not ruin or wear out parts faster I’ll go with 305s. I deal with more snow in jersey than mud. The used car dealer really screwed me when I bought the hummer but I really wanted one. My wife loves it with the kids in car seats for the amount of space in it.
