I read soo many threads on running size tires when asked “WHATS THE WEIGHT CAP FOR THE SPARE TIRE MOUNT”. I am still wondering if there is, (of course) and what ir might be. The genius professor GooGle, has given several different answers. Does anyone know the weight cap of the HUMMER H3 spare tire mount?

 

The answer depend on physical factors. If you have a extended load on the bracket the capacity is lessened.

So one factor in the equation is what are you planning to do with the mount. At some point the support metal will knuckle and begin to fail under certain pressures.

The bracket could be supported from behind if you were planning some exotic thing to hang on it.

So your actual measures may vary.

 

Great Advice! My only question would be, where to start? All of these factors have to start with point A in order to move on to point B. I’m researching what can be mounted and can’t depending on weight cap. The way I am reading this is, if the number, at any point, presents itself, then I can say whether I need to consider everything you mentioned.
