The working wheels sensors are bad, so I'm going to replace them when I get new tires. Does the spare have a sensor? Does the truck care if the working wheels are good and the spare is bad? Need to know if I need to replace (4) or (5) sensors.

 

The system only monitors 4 sensors, If you rotate your spare onto the vehicle when you rotate tires, it will need a sensor. If it is strictly a spare, then it does not need one.

 

My OEM factory installed spare has a TPMS sensor! Still has the original tire dated 2006(UNUSED) and still planted in my backyard behind a tree! Out of sight-out of mind, yet still holds air in case I ever needed it? I've never lost air in any of my tires+> I get better mpg without carrying a spare-mount-jack-+better view out the rear window!

My TPM sensors stopped working years ago, I never replaced them,,,I measure my own tire PSI with a gauge

 

Some time in 2007 H3s stopped being delivered with TPMS in the spare. My 07 had one and it was an early February build.

The truck can only monitor 4 sensors, so put those in tires on the ground.
