Default Tire pressure sensor question

Hello all! Just rotated the tires on 2009 H3. Are the tpws sensors positional thus need to relearn or are they all the same? Thanks for the help! JP

The H3 can ONLY monitor 4 tire pressure sensors and cannot report them as positional, so as long as you left the spare as the spare, you are done. If you did rotate in the spare, then you will only have to program in that wheel/tire.

I will take what Doc said a little further.

IF you have a TPM in your spare (GM stopped installing them sometime in early 2007 to save $) and you rotate the spare in, then you will have to reprogram the spare to be recognized by the TPMS.

Cool info! And speaking of spares. Our 09 has the "chrome" spoke wheels on it. The spare however is the same style wheel but in "polished" aluminum. Is this normal? We bought it used so it could of been changed by prior owner.

Nope, all the wheels should be the same from the factory, so somebody changed out the spare, or the four on the ground. There is no "polished aluminum", either chrome or painted silver which many assume is some kind of polished finish.

The 09 and 10 models used the polished aluminum on the solid 7 spoke spare wheel. I couldn't stand it not being matched so I found a really good deal on Ebay for a brand new chrome one. Only one other person besides myself noticed even though I had switched out the chrome center caps off my 08 because I had blacked out the HUMMER lettering.

Also if your spare wheel has a standard rubber valve stem it will not be able to be monitored by the TPM.

2010 H3 Alpha here and ALL 5 where Chrome Solid 7s. Must have been a 2009 thing?

Just looked at the 2009s and 2010s on Autotrader and the 09s look to be like that on Lux models but I have not seen one in person. Alphas have Chrome on the 2010s so it is Strange.
